Central Park, located at Main and E Southwest, in downtown Ardmore has become the heart of the city. This beautiful park, used by thousands every year, is maintained by the Ardmore Parks and Recreation Dept., Community Activities Inc. of Ardmore and the Ardmore Beautification Council, Inc. through a partnership. Central Park has been Ardmore's gathering place since the city was formed and was conveyd to the city of Ardmore in 1910. The pergola was built in 1928 and an extensive park renovation was done in 1986-87, as a part of Ardmore's Centennial celebration.

The Ardmore Garden Tour began in June 1997. Local gardens are featured to inspire the gardener in all of us. Proceeds benefit community improvement projects coordinated by the Ardmore Beautification Council.

The Great American Cleanup is a 3-month campaign of community improvement projects coordinated under Keep America Beautiful. KAB secures national sponsors, projects are done on the local level and last year over 2,400,000 people nationwide participated in this effort.
